Anastacio Ochoa Jr.

Anastacio “Tacho” Ochoa, Jr, 70, entered eternal rest on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at Comfort House in McAllen, Texas. He was born on a Saturday, October 11, 1952 in Edinburg, Texas to Anastacio Ochoa, Sr. and Nazaria Rodriguez Ochoa. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister; Adela Mungia, half brother; Juan Ochoa and brother in law; Frank Castillo.
He is survived by his children; Arlene (Alejandro) Mercado and Anastacio (Jarita Hernandez) Ochoa, III, grandchildren; Alysse Mercado, Miranda (Gilbert) Mercado, Armando Jesus Martinez, Melanie (Adrian) Solis, Matthew Aden Ochoa and Malayna Mosette Ochoa, 1 Great, Great Grandchild; Aubri Grace Solis, mother of his children; Ninfa Pina Ochoa, sisters; Melida Ochoa and Melba (Carlos) Diaz, brother; Vicente (Delia) Ochoa, half brothers; Jose Angel Ochoa, Manuel Ochoa, Mario Ochoa, Ricardo Ochoa, Nicolas Ochoa and Paul Ochoa and half sister; Anita Ochoa as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Tacho as he was affectionately known worked for the City of Edinburg, Utilities Department for 32 years until his retirement in 1999. He also spent 5 years working for JE Saenz & Associates. Tacho was an avid sports watcher, following some of his favorite teams; Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys and Houston Astros to name a few. He also coached his son in baseball and was a member of a bowling and softball league. His greatest love was for his family and will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all those whose lives he touched.
The Ochoa family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 20, 2023 from 4:00 PM -8:00 PM with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace, Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street, Edinburg, Texas. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1302 East Champion Street, Edinburg, Texas. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers will be: Alex Mercado, Anastacio Ochoa, Jr, Armando Jesus Martinez, Matthew Aden Ochoa, Alysse Mercado, Jose Armando Borrego and Miguel Domingo Ochoa. Funeral services have been entrusted to Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral Director and staff at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
