Ana Tomasa Vasquez, 85, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Doctor’s Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg. She was born March 5, 1926 in Paracuaro, Guanajuato to Arcadio Vega, Sr., and Petra Rodriguez Vega, but lived in Edinburg for most of her life. She is preceded in death her parents, husband; Pedro Vasquez, Sr., brother; Moises Vega and granddaughter; Jennifer Lynn Vasquez.
Left to cherish her memories are her sons; Pedro (Mary) Vasquez, Jr., Arcadio Vasquez, daughters; Ruth (Jesus) Rodriguez, Josefina (Elias) Rojas, Brother: Arcadio Vega, Jr. sisters; Amparo Vega, Rita Rodriguez, grandchildren; Veronica, Elias Esteban, Sereena, Benjamin, Adam, Abram and great-grandchildren; Adrian, Legacy, Peyton, and Ruben.
Mrs. Vasquez enjoyed gardening, sewing, and crocheting. She loved horses, cats, dogs and tending to all kinds of animals. One of her proudest moments was when she became a U.S. Citizen at the age of 73. She was most proud of educating her children. Mrs. Vasquez touched the lives of many people and was very inspirational because of her strong Christian faith. We commend her into the Lord’s Hands; she will be missed by all who knew her.
The Vasquez family received friends Thursday, September 15, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. A Christian service will be held today, September 16, 2011 at 1:00 p.m.at Templo Bethel de Cladic, 215 N. 21st Avenue in Edinburg. Christian burial will follow to Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen, Texas. Funeral services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
