Alberto S. “Beto” Martinez, 58, entered eternal rest on March 17, 2014 at Edinburg Regional Medical Center. He was born April 7, 1955 in Edinburg, TX to Cosme Martinez and Francisca O. Martinez. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Amada (Egene) Pena, Lucy (Jorge+) Rodriguez, and granddaughter, Addeleena Sanchez.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Yolanda R. Martinez; sons, Gilberto Erasto (Judith) Martinez, Jaime Villarreal, Albert Martinez, Jr., Derrick Davila; daughters, Consuelo Francisca (Salvador) Sanchez, Elizabeth Martinez; brothers, Carlos (Margaret) Martinez, Jose (Nicolasa) Martinez, Cosme (Aminta) Martinez, Jr., Juan (Angelita) Martinez, Alfonso (Diana) Martinez; sisters, Sofia (Jose M.) Garza, Concepcion (Juan) Hernandez, Janie (Tom+) Botello, Mary (Romeo) Villarreal, Dolores (Don+) Page, Susie Cisneros, Maggie (Israel) Perez; 6- Grandchildren, Numerous nieces and nephews.

Alberto lived in Edinburg all of his life, and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He was a hard worker who worked for De La Rosa Transport for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and cooking out with family. He will truly be missed by his family and all who knew him.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, March 19, 2014 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 pm in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. Christian Mass will be held Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 10:00 am at Holy Family Catholic Church in Edinburg. Christian Burial will follow to Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in McAllen, TX. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are Juan Martinez, Johnny Hernandez, Cosme Martinez, Jr., Alfonso Martinez, Raul Martinez, and Ramon Martinez. Funeral Services have been entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
