Angelita H. Champion

October 1, 1925 — September 18, 2017

Angelita H. Champion, 91, entered eternal rest peacefully on Monday, September 18, 2017 at Windsor Arbor View in Edinburg. She was born on Thursday, October 1, 1925 at Santa Monica Ranch in Northwest Hidalgo County, Texas to Margarito Hinojosa, Sr. and Liberata Longoria Hinojosa. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Frank C. Champion, Sr., 5 - brothers, 4 - sisters and her loving granddaughter; Jennifer L. Champion.
Left to cherish her memories are her children; Frank C. (Yolanda) Champion, Jr., Eduardo R. Champion, David N. Champion and Anna M. Champion, grandchildren; Patricia Champion, Frank "Trey" C. Champion, III and Victoria (Matthew) Cochran, great granddaughters; Lea J. Champion and Eliza Cochran, numerous nieces and nephews.
Angelita was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend who had a very kind and giving nature. She was a very generous and respected lady. She worked with Draft board after high school, then with the Department of Agriculture and finally with the Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District. She enjoyed gardening and traveling, but her greatest joy was going to Santa Monica Ranch with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all those whose lives she touched.
Her family would like to give a special "Thank You" to Dr. Pedro McDougal and Staff of RGV Adult & Geriatric Medicine in Weslaco, Nurses & Staff of Windsor Arbor View in Edinburg and to her caretakers; Lupita and Pola.
Angelita's family will receive family and friends today, Wednesday, September 20, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home, 322 East Kuhn Street in Edinburg. Catholic Mass will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 122 West Fay Street in Edinburg with Deacon Ramiro Davila officiating. Catholic burial will follow to Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, 1701 East Richardson Road in Edinburg. Funeral services have been in trusted to her nephew; Johnny Garcia, Manager/Funeral Director and Staff of Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.
